On Thursday 7/7/2022, a meeting of experts was held in the context of the Smart Tourism Research Project. This meeting took place within the framework of Work Package 5, the purpose of which was the qualitative evaluation of the paths of Fthiotida (mountain, semi-urban and urban) based on criteria that emerged from previous focus groups of health professionals and patients with chronic diseases. For the first time, a protocol for selecting paths for therapeutic exercise in special population groups has being developed.The Smart Tourism Research Project is a competitively funded program in which the Department of Informatics with Biomedical Applications and the Department of Physiotherapy have partnered with a large number of PhD students and postdoctoral fellows with full scholarships, through the participation of three research laboratories (Biomedical Imaging Laboratory, Assessment Laboratory of Health & Quality of Life & Laboratory of Clinical Physiology of Exercise & Rehabilitation). In addition, important research equipment has been acquired to strengthen the infrastructure of the University of Thessaly in the city of Lamia and by extension the region of Central Greece.
