Clinical Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation Research Laboratory
Clinical Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation Research Laboratory (CeprLab) of Physiotherapy Department, University of Thessaly was established in 2020.
The purpose of CeprLab is 1) the study of immediate and chronic adaptations in various systems of the human body as a result of exercise, 2) the investigation of the mechanisms of dysfunction and 3) the development of new rehabilitation methods in patients with chronic diseases or pathological conditions such as, cardiopulmonary diseases, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, chronic pain, chronic musculoskeletal injuries or overuse syndromes, arthritis, etc. in special population groups such as athletes, obese people, smokers, women with organic problems, etc.
Human Performance & Rehabilitation Laboratory
Human Performance and Rehabilitation Research Laboratory (HPRL) of Physiotherapy Department, University of Thessaly, was established in 2020.
The general purpose of HPRL is to promote the research and education in the field of human performance and rehabilitation. More specifically, the objectives of the lab are: 1) the assessment of biomechanics and physiological factors of human performance on healthy as well as on patient populations, in order to promote knowledge regarding prevention, rehabilitation and maximization of neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory parameters of human performance and 2) the development and verification of physiotherapy methods using existent agents and technics as well as the development of innovative therapeutic methods and tools that could be used το achieve the optimum management of diseases and the optimum rehabilitation of patients.
Health Assessment and Quality of Life Laboratory
Health Assessment and Quality of Life Laboratory (HAQLL) of Physiotherapy Department, University of Thessaly was established in 2020.
The general purpose of HAQLL is to promote the research and education in the field of health assessment and quality of life improvement and more specifically the objectives of the lab are: 1) the research and development of innovative assessment tools, technologies and methods in all areas of Health and Quality of Life Assessment and in particular to assess the health of people with problems arising from all systems of the human body, 2) the development and application of digital and remote systems and services for home self-monitoring and coaching of patients with chronic diseases, but also the training of the healthy population for prevention and/or improvement of the quality of life and 3) the investigation of the cross-cultural effect on the assessment of health and quality of life.
